The Hornet GT models at our Torrington dealership have standard 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engines that deliver 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The new Hornet's sports car-inspired exterior begins at the front end, which features a downward-sloping hood accented by dual hood scoop vents and sharp character lines. A narrow, rectangular meshed grille and dual narrow, angular, tear-drop-shaped headlights sit beneath the hood. The lower-body fascia consists of angular, three-dimensional elements that include a large, meshed engine vent. A side view reveals an aerodynamic profile. Gentle curves cross both door panels and high-cut wheels, and the entire lower body appears accented by matte fascia. The stylish Hornet's rear has three-dimensional features in addition to a thin band of brake and taillights that traverse across the SUV's width.
The GT and R/T models have fabric and leather upholstered interiors. Leather wraps the steering wheel. Stepping up to the GT Plus or the R/T Plus model adds leather upholstery, along with heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats. Owners also have the option of starting the engine remotely for added cold-weather comfort.
Entry-level Hornet vehicles provide keyless entry and push-button engine start tech. Drivers have a 12.3-inch digital instrument display to stay entertained while driving to Hartford. The infotainment system comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone integration. Bluetooth allows hands-free phone usage, and Wi-Fi serves multiple devices with Internet access. The AM/FM satellite radio has six speakers and is compatible with Alexa. Four USB ports located throughout the cabin enable occupants to recharge devices. The climate control system is automatic and regulates two zones.
Stepping up to a Plus model enhances the infotainment system with navigation ability, HD radio, and a 14-speaker premium stereo with voice command control.
